It was a beautiful day for shooting. While the crowd was only 19, the good news was five of those were Juniors. John Laws shot his usual stellar match for an overall score of 491-19x and the win.
Most of the Masters shot their class with Dwayne Vidrine’s fine 477-12x for top Master. Almost all of the Experts shot their class with Russell Merz topping Expert with a 468-8x. Thomas Walker, who missed some time with an injury, is back and hitting his stride with an Expert score of 455-7x for first Junior. John Uzéshot a Sharpshooter score of 427-6x on his 14th birthday. He should be getting his Sharpshooter card soon. William Sevario was one point off Sharpshooter at 419-3x, a big improvement from last month.
As always, we thank Sheriff Webre and the rest of the department for the use of this fine range. Thanks also to Mike Strikmiller and Gary Schawbe for calling the match and Mike Pizzolato for helping with the targets. We also thank William’s grandfather for picking up the pizza. The next match is on May 26.
