CMP Targets at Petrarca Range

Civilian Marksmanship ProgramRangesCMP Targets at Petrarca Range

Petrarca Range is open on Mondays by appointment only. Read our Special Notice. To make a reservation for Petrarca Range, please call Catherine Green at (419) 635-2141 ext. 704.

CMP Targets at Petrarca Range are located at Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. Petrarca Range is home to innovative electronic targets, equipped by CMP Targets and enhanced by Kongsberg Target System (KTS) technology. The targets work through the power of acoustics – “hearing” the shot and accurately determining its location. Each is able to simulate a fluctuating span of distances to allow a variety of matches to be fired upon them.

With extensive use by ranges in 30 nations for over 20 years by KTS and even more experience received in-house by the CMP, the accuracy of these electronic targets is unlike anything else in the United States.

Our range includes 10 rifle targets set up at 100 yards and 5 pistol targets set up at either 25 or 50 yards. Though our targets are positioned at 100 yards, for those interested in short-range zeroing, our electronic scoring system can add difficulty by accurately simulating 200, 300 and 600 yards. Benches are available for sighting in your rifles.

We allow ammo no larger than .30-06 to be fired and no 300 Win Mag ammo or armor piercing ammo. Visitors must bring their own firearms and we have a selection of ammo available for purchase.

For questions, please contact Mike Conrad at [email protected] or call (419) 635-2141 ext. 753.
