Recently, the Palomino Valley Gun Club (PVGC) in Reno, Nev., held a NorNev Tactical Rifle Match. The match is a precision rifle match where competitors engage steel targets at distances ranging from 200 to 1,000 yards.

Participants are presented with a variety of challenges throughout the course of fire, which includes but are not limited to:

• Shooting from multiple positions (offhand, kneeling, sitting, prone, etc.).
• Shooting from barricades and improvised positions.
• Preparing range cards using Laser Range Finders and ballistic solvers (where assistance can be given, if needed).
• Problem-solving.
• Emphasis on proper fundamentals and effective equipment management.
