NM Update 7/31 Update: The GSMM Matches for today (7/31) are cancelled. Competitors are encouraged to show up on the firing line tomorrow morning to be squadded. If you are shooting the team match, plan to head over to Viale Range after that match is complete to be squadded. The Swap or “SWAMP” Meet is still on as scheduled today from 5-8PM in the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center parking lot. Our Air Gun Range will be open from 2-8PM today. The NTT match will take place on Friday on Rodriguez Range and the NTIT match will be moved to Saturday. The Awards Ceremony on Friday is still on as planned! Reception at 5:30PM, Awards at 6:30PM. The CMP Armorers Truck will be closed today (7/31).

Gary Anderson, Director of Civilian Marksmanship-Emeritus, is a regular contributor to On The Mark.
He served as DCM for 10 years and remains an effective advocate for firearms safety training and rifle practice. Gary’s primary role at CMP has been to develop and sustain successful youth shooting programs at both regional and national levels.
Gary Anderson, Director of Civilian Marksmanship Emeritus, retired as the full-time CMP Director at the close of 2009. He continues to work with CMP as the senior marksmanship instructor and is a regular contributor to On The Mark. Gary’s primary role at CMP has been to develop and sustain successful youth shooting programs at both regional and national levels.
During his remarkable career, he won two Olympic gold medals, seven World Championships and 16 National Championships. He is a Vice President of the International Shooting Sports Federation, the President of USA Shooting, a former Nebraska State Senator and was one of the two Olympic Games Technical Delegates for Shooting during the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
In June, 2012, the International Olympic Committee awarded Gary Anderson the IOC’s highest honor, the Olympic Order, “for outstanding services to the Olympic Movement.”
In 2014, the CMP expanded their world-class air gun center at Camp Perry and renamed the facility the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center, in honor of Anderson’s contribution to the organization and the marksmanship community.
