Marksmanship 101 in Illinois
October 1, 2020
Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Competitions▸Marksmanship 101 in IllinoisGood morning, Amy. I sure hope that you have recovered from your trip
to Illinois.
I cannot find the words to express my gratitude towards you, the other
CMP people, The Army Marksmen and the ISRA range volunteers. My daughter
and I had a wonderful time. I “taught” myself to shoot a rifle 40 years
ago and in that time ingrained a LOT of bad habits. The lesson as
presented by Steve was clear, unambiguous, presented in a logical order
and just plain interesting. I picked up many bits of information which
I will reinforce via your thumb drive and trips to my range. I will be
a much better shooter because of your efforts, as will my daughter Kate.
While it is true that we did not return for the competition, it was
because my mind and belief in what I can physically do are about 35
years old, but my body is 73 and just says “NO!” Still, it was well
worth my time and the costs. In addition, I had a great day, spending
it with my middle daughter and with very nice people at the range. How
could one ask for more?
Would you be so kind as to make a note to let me know when and if CMP
will hold this class again near Chicago? My wife (who is a bit less
advanced in years as I) and our son as well as my grandson would love to
attend for both days.
Again, thank you so very much. You mad a lot of people happy this past
weekend.
