I just wanted to take the time to thank you for the M1 Garand I received on 11/10/16. My grandfather PFC. Augustine Passante serviced in Co C, 115th Regimental Combat Team of the 29th Infantry Division during the D-Day Invasion. He landed with his M1 Garand on the beaches in front of St. Laurent France on the first day of the invasion. He fought on the front lines for 15 days until he was wounded twice and evacuated to England. Unfortunately I never got a chance to meet my Grandfather as he passed away in 1982 (4 years before I was born). I grew up hearing the stories of his service from my father and other relatives. This sparked my interest in history and as long as I can remember I have wanted an M1 for the connection to my Grandfather and his service. I sent in my order for my first M1 and kept my fingers crossed for a WWII era receiver. CMP came through and I couldn’t be any happier with the look of the rifle. I ended up with a SA February 1945 receiver. My family will be thinking of my grandfathers service every time we take the rifle out. I just want to thank you again for everything.
