Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Competitions▸CMP ShinesHi Christina,
I wanted to give out some of my observations regarding the CMP support for competitors. First and foremost, I see the CMP as the premier organization in the USA for precision competitive shooting. I have seen the DCM/CMP transform from an organization with no flexibility and no innovation to a very progressive organization that supports the competitors and has new offerings to get more competitors in the game.
- I enjoyed the little gifts and mailings in 2020. This has kept my relationship with the CMP.
- I enjoyed the support in the Winter League series.
- I enjoyed the National Matches. I love the air pistol shooting and the addition of the Glock match (the only reason I bought a Glock!)
- I like that the CMP has offered the Precision Pistol 2700 match to keep the NRA bullseye shooters in the game.
- The awards ceremony at the Eastern Games is a big hit.
- I like the regular communications via email of competitor and sales information.
I would like to have more sanctioned matches in my area. I run a league in an indoor range. My challenge is cost and time as the range can make more revenue with plinkers paying by the hour. I would like for the future that the CMP offers a sanctioned 60 shot precision pistol course as a number of my competitors cut their teeth on my league before competing in the outdoor matches.
Thank you for supporting the precision shooting sports.
