Advanced Maintenance Class

Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Custom Shop▸Advanced Maintenance ClassTo Whom it May Concern:
I recently completed the CMP Advanced Maintenance Class (August 24-26 buddy class) with my father. It was something we had wanted to do for several years and were extremely pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this year.
I wanted to take a moment to let everyone at the CMP know (particularly those involved in organizing, preparing, and teaching the course) that it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I would like to specifically single out Chris Hord, Chris Knott, and Jeremy Coppock. Both Mr. Hord and Mr. Knott displayed a complete mastery of the rifle and class material. More importantly, they possessed the capability to effectively explain complex and potentially confusing principles in an accessible way for someone like myself with minimal experience in any serious gun-smithing. Jeremy’s correspondence before the course and organization of order forms and payment processing during it made for a smooth and efficient experience throughout the entire process.
The opportunity to spend even a few days under the tutelage of the highly talented CMP Custom Shop staff (who were generous enough to offer their advice and expertise on questions not directly related to the class whenever they were asked) was extraordinarily valuable. More than that, however, the CMP AMC provided me with a very fun weekend spent with my father doing something we both enjoy that I will always remember – and a damned nice M1 rifle!
Thank you and please continue the exceptional work you’re doing.
