Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Sales▸81 year old VetDear CMP,
I have been helping my father fill out all the paper work to purchase an M1 Garand. He is a very healthy 81 year old vet that is very familiar with many types of guns, but is especially familiar with the Garand because of is military service. We have both been excited for this purchase. For him, it is the memories and stories he has associated with this firearm. For me, it is the memories he has shared with me and the bond that has been created between us.
We were not quite sure what to expect. He ordered a service grade and we waited with our fingers crossed hoping to get it within two months. To our surprise it was delivered within two weeks. The condition also surprised us. It appears to be a better grade than what was described with new stock and very little wear. Further more, it is a Springfield which he says is most desirable and therefore what he most desired.
We are both shocked by the speed, service, and condition. It seems that this was more than a luck of the draw gun. I don’t know if you planned on taking such good care of an old vet, but I have to thank you for making an old vet so happy.
