I am the proud owner of an M1 Garand rifle made by Springfield. I was looking for the different grades of rifles available, but cannot find any such category in the information sites on CMP. Is there no such classification anymore? I will say this, when I took my rifle to an open air range in Dallas, everybody there was using the .223, or something small. When I opened up with my; 30.06 M1, I stopped the entire firing line. Everybody came over to see what I had. Needless to say, they were all impressed. And, I was as proud as the proverbial peacock showing off my weapon. And, the accuracy of this weapon made everyone wanting to know where I had gotten the weapon. I was more than glad to give them that information. I might add, with my limited sight these days, I still managed to put all 8 rounds in the bullseye from 200 yards.
