Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Sales▸I just wanted to thank All the staff at the CMP , for my recent purchase of my M1 grand rifle. After several years I took a leap of faith to order a service m1 grand. In my order I sent a sticky note requesting a Springfield pre: 1945 m1 with original USGI wood. The staff at the CMP went the extra mile to make sure I received what I requested. I received my Springfield m1 which according to records it was born December 1944.
After taking my rifle down and inspecting the parts I found it had all Springfield parts except the trigger housing and safety which were WRA, the rest of the trigger housing parts were Springfield. the throat and bore were 1+ , 3 The stock is original USGI with proof stamp and it is a Springfield. Which will make it a shooter. The tag that came with the rifle had a Y on the back which indicates it was a Philippine return, I was really happy the I got a rile with a lot of history.
Once Again Thanks to all the Staff of the CMP.
