The staff at the CMP,

My rifle has arrived and it exceeds my expectations many times over. This rifle is the second Garand in our household, the first was picked up from the north store. My youngest daughter and I completed the marksmanship portion of the program together. With the help of a very knowledgeable staffer at the store, we selected a rifle that could have been carried by her grandfather as he earned his five battle stars beginning with Normandy. I’m sure he would be pleased and amazed to watch Erin lean into the recoil of “her” Garand and proceed to land rounds into the 10 ring. All the members of the family appreciate and treasure our family heirlooms. For this reason, I’m confident they will remain in the family for generations to come. As for me personally, I’m delighted with this rifle. I realize that there are many others like it, but this one is mine.
