Junior Rifle Camps

Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Marksmanship Centers▸Junior Rifle CampsHi Vera,
I meant to email you earlier in the week, but I was hoping you could pass on a job well done to the Jr Rifle Camp (#5) we attended last week. Ashley MacAllister and her team were simply outstanding. Every single one of the counsellors and support staff were helpful and completely professional. Their overall knowledge, patience, and understanding of where each junior was in his or her shooting abilities and how to improve upon it was excellent. Of course having a new facility is a big plus, but the program of instruction they conducted suits it to a tee. I really liked where the kids were briefly taught something in the classroom, a few minutes later they were discussing it with their counsellors near their firing points, and then were ready to apply what they learned soon afterwards. Short PowerPoints were so much better. Ashley really knew her material. Having the counsellors and support staff service air at the refill window streamlined what could have been huge delays otherwise. ReAnn was a great finals announcer and kept the matches moving along. Even having lunch for everyone in the building was great. I’ve already spoken to the new incoming Teams OIC and with the Rifle Team OIC about incorporating a few of your procedures within their HP Jr Clinic in the upcoming weeks. It’s a work in progress, but the instruction can always improve. Again, many thanks to all those involved. It was a truly great week. It was so nice to see how much the kids improved and that even a few of us who have been involved in marksmanship programs for a long time learned a few things. My daughter couldn’t believe she jumped up 40 points from her old personal best!
