What is a 7.62 thought m1’s were 30 06
In 1966 I joined the Navy. In boot camp we shot M1 Garands that had been converted to function with7.62 NATO rounds. There was a spacer in the magazine to account for the shorter round and the barrel was rechambered. I am not sure what other changes made have been made.
