Anyone else having trouble signing the online form? It doesn’t seem to matter whether I’m on my laptop or iPads (2); I’m unable to sign the form and submit. I have filled in all the spaces, including those requiring acknowledgments, and still cannot sign the document.
Please help, do I just bring the manual paperwork?
Frustrating.
Paul
Paul,
I’ll let our IT Department know and reach out to you.
Thanks,
Christine
I’ve replied to my email that said I got a slot for the Anniston event but have not received a call back to confirm payment and receive my “ticket number”.
I have sent several emails and left messages, but I have not received a response. The email said I had 24 hours to complete the payment, so I’m concerned about losing my slot.
Hopefully you heard from Traci today, if not I’ll have her reach out to you on Monday.
Thanks,
Christine
Christine,
I paid over the phone this morning but did not get a “ticket number” to complete my online paperwork. Is that something that will be sent in a separate email, I do see where my CC was charged?
Thank you,
Paul
Paul,
I’ll forward your question to Traci in our 1911 department and she will be able to help assist you.
Thanks,
Christine
The same thing happened to me, I gave my payment info to Autumn yesterday and got another email later that day but have not received an order number to fill out the form yet.
Michael,
Our 1911 staff will be sending out the order numbers today.
Thanks,
Christine
I got the dreaded email that I need to contact CMP and provide my credit card info. I’ve sent several emails and called dozens of times, but no response. I don’t want my time slot given away. Someone please assist me.
Cullen,
I’ll make sure Traci sees your message and contact you for the payment information. I’ve had several individuals that have also emailed and called this morning as they cannot get through.
Thanks,
Christine
I’ve also called and emailed stating I’m ready to give payment info. Also I’m trying to figure out where my ticket number is because it wasn’t in the email that had the in person 1911 form.
Dalton,
I don’t believe the emails went out yet for the Camp Perry event but I’ll forward your inquiry to our 1911 staff so they can check on that and provide your ticket number.
Thanks,
Christine
I received my email on 5-29-25 for the Camp Perry date, I attempted to complete the in person Sales event online order form. Is there any way to confirm the form was completed properly and accepted ? After hitting enter, the form just clears it self with no message it was accepted.
David,
I don’t see the form – can you please try to resend the form?
Thanks,
Christine
Yeah I receive mine for the camp Perry date on July 15th. But my ticket number was no in there and it said I had 24 hours to complete or my ticket would be forfeited.‘I emailed Traci within a few hours of receiving and explained my situation. I let her know I didn’t have my ticket number and I was ready to submit payment. I didn’t know what to do really. I know you guys are overwhelmed and really appreciate you. I’m hoping I hear back from her on Monday.
I received the email with my time slot for Anniston.
The quantity of pistols I can purchase at the event is incorrect.
I have previously purchased 2 pistols. The confirmation email states that I am eligible to purchase 1 pistol. I want to purchase my lifetime max of 2 more.
What is needed from me to get this corrected before June 6th?
Ward,
You can email our 1911 staff at [email protected] or confirm with our 1911 staff when you arrive at the event.
Happy Shopping!
Christine
Can you check on mine as well? I emailed back yesterday a few times but have not received a call. I sent the cell phone number that I should be reached at in the email. I am concerned because it says we only have 24 hours to pay and I’m now getting very close to that cut off. Thanks!
Hopefully you heard from Traci today, if not I’ll have her reach out to you on Monday.
Thanks,
Christine
Hi Christine, I completely understand CMP is beyond busy right now. Just wanted to throw my name out there as well that I have the “dreaded” email saying I need to call for payment for my time slot. Since the 24 hours is up tonight and I can’t get through to anyone… just wanted to respectfully ensure that all loose ends are tied on my end. I’m the least tech savvy 23 year old you’d ever meet. Haha. Thank you for all you do, beyond excited!
Hopefully you heard from Traci today, if not I’ll have her reach out to you on Monday.
Thanks,
Christine
I need help as well, just sent a separate response.
Paul
I have also reached out to Tracis extension, left voice mails and sent several emails to try to pay for my ticket. Is there anything else I can do?
Chaise,
Hopefully you heard from Traci today, if not I’ll have her reach out to you on Monday.
Thanks,
Christine
I just wanted to Thank all of you at the CMP for a JOB WELL DONE .You cant please everyone .But things have come a long way in 30 years and you keep improving all the time Thanks Andrew Paskovitch
Thank you Andrew, it’s nice to hear both sides of the coin sometimes!
Mr O’Keefe has stressed that plenty of pistols will be available throughout the day and folks should not worry about pistols being”sold out.” Is this implying that there will be restocking of graded pistols and special pistols tables throughout all time slots?
We have set aside plenty of quality firearms to make everyone happy. The early morning slot might have a slight advantage, (that’s why the tickets cost more) but we will have full assortment to choose from through out the day.
Hello. I registered for the event, the moment it opened. To make sure I made it to at least one of the designated times of the event (8am, 10am and 1:30pm), I checked all three boxes. Did that disqualify me from the event? If the first event, (8am) fills up, since I checked the next event (10am) will I be eligible for that time slot?
I see from the registration, you are signed up. Congrats
If we end up getting on the waitlist for the earlier time slot, will we have the option to join one of the later time windows instead? Will there be a few day turnaround for those as well, or will the confirmation be quicker?
Appreciate this opportunity and everything you do!
What the prices going to be for the pair?
All special Items will competitively priced. The price will vary with each offering. It will depend on quality, rarity, and popularity.
Has the CMP figured out how sales tax law works? I made an in store purchase last year at the North store for around $5K in rifles. Despite the fact the rifles were to be shipped to me, Ohio sales tax was collected, which meant that I would be double taxed, as sales tax would be due in California. I cancelled the order and wasted a day of our Ohio vacation to travel to Port Clinton and go home empty handed due to a misguided policy. Will all these in person 1911 buyers face double taxation as well?
Greg,
I’ll forward your inquiry to our Chief Finance Officer and he will be able to respond to you via email.
Thanks,
Christine
I would actually prefer a public reply to a question posted in a public forum that is relevant to all buyers at this sales event.
I have yet to receive a confirmation via e-mail for the in-person 1911 ticket. I want to pay and make sure my reservation is valid.
Jeff,
Purchasers will receive confirmation of ticketed or waitlist status by email on or before May 29, 2025.
Thanks,
Christine
If I make it and need to submit on-line the IN-PERSON SALES EVENT 1911 SURPLUS ORDER FORM, there is no place to upload a doc that proves membership in a CMP-affiliated organization or proof of Marksmanship or other Firearms Related Activity. I suppose you could both together in one PDF and upload as a State Applicable Document. Am I missing something?
Steven,
We will send you a link to an online order form that will allow you to upload the requirements for the 1911 pistol.
Thanks,
Christine
Pretty freakin awesome…I’m definitely going to try to get that first slot. I’ll be smiling the whole drive up from the Orange Beach AL area…
Thank you for all of the information and your continued engagement for those of us with questions. Is this sales event available to everyone, or only those who are participating in one of the shooting competition / events?
Thank you for the question. If you could scroll down to “Paul” — he had the same question and it’s been answered. Thank you.
Ahh, got it. Sorry I missed that. Hope to see y’all there!
Can you give us a price we can expect for a consecutive pair ? I’d definitely be interested in buying a ticket if I knew if I’d be able to afford a consecutive serial number pair before I drive 1000 miles .
Brendan — thank you for your question. Please scroll down to “Mike.” He had pretty much the same question and it was answered. Thank you.
Hi,
Exciting news for sure.
Curiosity question; if one buys a ticket to attend this event to hand pick out a 1911 or 1911A1, does one’s ticket price get credited towards the price of the 1911?
Semper Fi,
JHT
JHT — while I certainly understand the question the answer is no. This is a pretty unique and rare opportunity and I think you’ll be pleased with the in-person opportunity to pick out the gun or guns you want — up to the lifetime limit of four.
There are also a variety of additional costs to the CMP to make these events happen. That’s an internal issue but it is real.
Army Strong and Be All You Can Be
Thank you.
When do you know when you get the available and pricing ?
will the event be at the Anniston AL office or at the Talladega ranges?
Sylvester,
The announcement lists the following locations:
Friday, June 6 – Anniston, Ala. (2025 D-Day Match)
Tuesday, July 15 – Camp Perry, Ohio (National Pistol Matches)
Saturday, August 2 – Camp Perry, Ohio (National Rifle Matches)
Thanks,
Christine
Sylvester — The AL event will be in Anniston not Talladega.
It’ll actually be in the “common area” of our M1911 armory. The M1911 armory is obviously where the pistols are, where we have knowledgable staff and sufficient space for the event. We’ll provide the address to the ticket holders. Also . . . time permitting . . . customers for that event will get a bit of a peak behind the curtain in terms of seeing our armory operations!
The date was selected to be during the D-Day matches to afford D-Day competitors this opportunity. As Christine Elder articulated in another response, the two Camp Perry dates were intentionally picked to allow the different sets of competitors at the National Matches to have the opportunity. Thank you.
Will there be a credit card fee or taxes on these purchases? If so, how much thank you.
I cant help with CC fee info but Anniston AL sales tax is 10% 🙁
Can we get any further details on cost of the “auction grade” items like sequential serials or WW1 1911s? Those special items would be my primary reason to get a ticket but I don’t want to spend $200 for a ticket to find I’ve been priced out of them.
Mike — we are working on it. We do plan to provide ticket holders the exact list of special or auction grade guns with pricing prior to the event. This is a bit more complicated than you might guess. While we obviously know exactly what serial numbers and what sequential pairs we have (we have many) they don’t come to us that way from the Army. They are spread out across the various crates of guns and each crate is wrapped, banded and sealed. So we have to open the boxes up, get the guns out, grade them and reapply physical security standards. After Memorial Day weekend I think we can give you a general idea of sequential pairs at different grades and probably the same for WW1 M1911s to assist with your planning. As we get closer to the event we’ll provide more detail on exactly what we’ll have available on each given day. Hope this will help.
I really do hope you will be able to give some info on prices to ticket holders as you stated at Least a couple of days prior as there won’t be a lot of time to decide what I would like to have and can afford. I have an 8 o’clock ticket and have completed the pre-order criteria. Thanks.
I’ve been trying to get the competition tracker number set up from my iPhone, but when I get to the point to enter my name and date of birth, it doesn’t give me a keyboard to type it in. Do I have to be on a computer please help. Thanks
Never mind I think figured it out. You have to blow it up and slide back and forth. Sorry.
So the initial announcement said this “Entry to each 1911 sales day will be available to individuals that have purchased tickets (open to those registered for either Talladega D-Day or the National Matches, respectively)”
But now it appears you do not have to be registered to compete in the matches to purchase a pistol; correct?
Thanks,
Paul
Paul – you are correct. We scheduled these events to maximize the participation opportunity for our competitors and frankly I’d hoped to limit these first initial events to competitors only to recognize their special commitment to the CMP and our mission.
Unfortunately our automated systems wouldn’t allow for that and doing this manually wasn’t a great option. So it is in fact open but I’m hoping we’ll see a good number of our competitors at these events.
Christine, I feel that the rules and additional information you provided about the rules for 1911 sales in general and the in-person sales events in particular are in fact very easily understood and appreciate the patience of all hands at CMP.
But I have one question: For those folks who are active rifle or pistol competitors and already have a Competition Tracker account, do those folks need a different Competition Tracker account to participate in the in-person sales or will their existing account suffice? I apologize if that was already answered and I missed it.
Your existing account will work. You will just need to know your username and password to log in when tickets go on sale.
Thanks,
Christine
Thanks muchly!
To Gerald B. OKeefe – Chairman and CEO and everyone there at CMP. For one, I’m tickled to have the opportunity to view and choose the pistol that I desire. To me, that alone is worth the ticket price. Now add on the excitement of seeing everyone else pick theirs, to listen to conversations being had and just the entire ambiance, is worth the cost. I can only imagine the logistical hard work that it’s taken to put this together. So, if no one else will say it, I will….. Thank you. I hope to see you there on the anniversary of D-Day.
Cullen — thank you. We intend to make this a first class experience. And we have the inventory to provide ticket holders plenty of options.
As you state this event requires some special work. We are setting aside the pistols now (while still fulfilling mail order orders) and we will ensure plenty of availability and a consistent experience across all three events in terms of the number of pistols to choose from, the quality and variety.
We are also contracting for additional physical security personnel to augment our staff during these events. While this is a most trusted population of customers — we can’t take any chances.
And. . . . if it makes a difference I’ll be there in person for the first event in AL and I look forward to seeing you as well.
Will that mean the the best 1911s will be sold at the in person event, penalizing those that will not/can not be there in person? This is very disappointing to those folks that have waiting for the phone call saying its your turn.
Jim
Good question. No need for anyone to be concerned or disappointed. We have a truly significant quantity of M1911s on hand. In fact, by my math (and I’m a licensed Professional Engineer so . . .) we will sell less than 5% of our inventory in total via these three in person events. These events won’t impact the overall number or the variety/quality in any material way of what we’ll continue to sell via mail order. And . . . we expect to receiver another sizable amount from the Army in Fiscal Year 2026. But thank you for asking so we could clarify and reassure for all.
Mr. O’Keefe, this is reassuring, thank you. I was not the only one waiting for that first second to roll over to unlock registration. I didn’t make the cut this time, so I’ll have to try again next year. Glad to know that more pistols are coming and that I’ll have another chance.
Will credit card be the only form of payment accepted at these events ? Thanks.
Yes. We will be utilizing the new eStore payment process to insure a fast and safe transaction.
Thank you for your inquiry
Payment by credit card is preferred and will best support our processes. If you would like to attend one of these events and require alternative payment arrangements, please contact our team at the email address above and we can explore options.
Will the pricing of the pistols at the event be the same as the mail order ones or will the ‘special’ guns have different pricing?
Pricing for the graded pistols will be the same as mail order with the advantage of getting to hand pick your pistol and immediate processing. Special guns will have adjusted pricing consistant with the value expected of these types of firearms. We still can only do FFL to FFL transfers, but it will happen in days instead of months. Thank you for your inquiry.
Special guns — those that would otherwise go to auction — will be priced accordingly. Once we have the list of confirmed ticket holders we’ll send ticket holders the details on what “special guns” will be available and corresponding pricing.
We are also working through how to best display the pistols on various tables with associated signage to allow customers to go directly to the pistols of most interest. Lots of pistols and the 50 minute window will go fast. We’ll be organized and have plenty of customer service help on site.
And to reassure everyone . . . we will have plenty of pistols to choose from — all day.
I submitted an order a few months back and have heard nothing. Can you verify my order has been received?
Why are you making these 1911s only available via in-person sale? Why not auction them on your website? I’m always looking on other auction sites for nice 1911s, but I’m not going to drive 1,000 miles to look at any.
Hi Philip. I understand completely. We are currently working with our auction team to start reintroducing M1911/M1911A1s back in to the auctions. Keep an eye out for one (or more) in the near future.
Thank you for your inquiry.
This is offered as a special opportunity to visit our facility, ‘peek behind the curtain’, and to select your own pistol. Many of the pistols on display will be representative of the inventory currently available through our regular sales operation.
There will indeed be some special and rare selections on display for those who make the trip, but we are also in the process reintegrating 1911 sales into our online auction platform for our greater audience.
Please monitor our auction site at https://cmpauction.thecmp.org/ for upcoming listings.
Philip — keep watching the CMP auction site. You’ll be seeing M1911s there soon.
Does anyone understand those instruction.
If you have a specific question feel free to ask . . .
Great idea. However, CMP should add this to the normal sales platform. Times, dates and locations do not work for me but would definitely participate if I could. Believe there are others in the same situation. Please consider changing the process and adding this to the current purchasing platform.
Good Afternoon Joe — I’m not quite sure what you are asking for.
The pistols are for sale via our normal mail order process now and more and more you’ll soon see some of the rare and unique pistols on the CMP auction site.
This is an opportunity to respond to customer demand to allow for an in-person sales opportunity. We are managing it in this very controlled way due to anticipated demand and our need to ensure strict physical security controls.
If this doesn’t answer your question please let me know. Thank you
We would love to make in person pistol sales a part of our normal operation, but our 1911 FFL operation is not set up for regular retail sales and we simply do not have the infrastructure in place to support at this time.
How come Massachusetts resident CMP members can’t order 1911’s and have them shipped to an FFL even though we could buy one off GunBroker?
We are actively exploring options that might allow us to serve our friends in MA. The restrictions and guidelines governing CMP operations are different, and often more restrictive, than those that apply to traditional FFL operations. We will continue to explore remain hopeful that a compliant path will be approved in the near future.
I agree with you. Can’t say they aren’t pre ban or non compliant. Never understood it. Wish they would make a change. Good luck
If the CMP has all these 1911s available, why has it not yet filled my order from February of this year?
David — We will get to you. We had to complete all the round four orders first. We still have thousands of orders to fulfill which we are doing on a first in – first served basis. The table on our website provides a good guide for you to judge when your order will be fulfllled.
Hi David, we apologize for the delay. Currently, we have over 4000 orders we are processing. We have been adding staff and making improvements to our process to speed up fulfillment. Thank you for your continued patience.
I was excited about the in person buying event announcement until I read that I could not leave with my purchase. As others have said, we must drive across the country, pay for lodging, a ticket, and ultimately a pistol. Then, even though I have a Federal Firearms License, you will ship it to a dealer that i must pay to transfer it to me. Nope. Not worth it in the least.
I live in the state even and could buy one of the Tisas ones at TMP and can’t get the original without going through the gambit.
I agree with you 200%, your words reflect my feeling better than what I could’ve said. Apparently the CMP has all those milspec and commercial 1911’s, they want to sell them yet we go thru the “in-person” gyrations & expenses only to leave empty handed and pick up the 1911 at our FFL. What is the big difference? We show up in person to the CMP stores, pick up their offering of long guns, go thru the clearance process (no difference), and leave with the firearms. It may not be their rules but it’s really no different, a gun is a gun… period.
John — that’s obviously your choice/decision.
With these events we are responding to customer input to be able to pick out a gun in person and not just “by grade” via mail order.
The approach we’ve articulated balances how many customers we can get through the process in one day while maintaining strict physical security protocols throughout. Yes . . . shipping the gun to your FFL costs a few dollars more but I’ve done it multiple times with CMP guns and found it pretty simple and efficient. And again following this approach allows for more throughput (sales) and minimizes any physical security issues.
Whether it’s worth it — that’s up to each of you. But this is the first time in the history of this program that we are offering this, we got Army agreement to raise the lifetime limit to four pistols prior to announcing it and we will have a very strong selection of pistols to choose from — all day.
Yes, but you are only doing it for those registered for the matches. I live in OH, still shoot, but at 77 my eyes are no good for competition, so no point in being registered for the matches, therefore I can’t choose a pistol in person. Seems a very, very large perk for match shooters and kind of a slight to the thousands who are relegated to pot luck. On a retirees income, I will only be able to ever get one and it sure would be nice to be able to pick it, especially since I live only an easy day trip away.
I also have an FFL and have had two 1911s transferred to me.
Since Ohio is a constitutional carry state, will an Ohio resident who purchases a 1911 at CMP North be able to walk out the door with their purchases?
Nope, has to go through the process outlined above. No on-site transfers. I’m an Alabama resident and was going to buy one until I learned about that. No FFL will give you a copy of their info to transfer it and they’re requesting that too. I have no clue how this is going to work. I’d have otherwise paid an extra $100 to skip the mail in and notary process and buy it on-site like I have with my Garands and M1903. But there is an on-site for that skips the notary it seems, just no clue how you’d come in with the FFL info that FFLs won’t give you. Maybe we would know more at a later date about that. Maybe they can look them up in a system, but they do need something from them to start.
I’ve never had a problem getting an FFL to supply a copy of their license to facilitate a transfer.
And if they won’t give you a copy, they will happily send one to the CMP.
And faxing to the CMP is faster and easier.
I live in Georgia and my FFL had no problem giving me a copy (via email) of their license. I’m guessing each FFL works a little differently.
Based on this, we need to have our packet with us if we get tickets?
Robert,
Ticket Sales Details:
Purchasers will receive confirmation of ticketed or waitlist status by email on or before May 29, 2025. No duplicate entries will be accepted.
If accepted, a confirmation email will be sent, which will include:
Event address and specific time slot
Order Number (This will be required on the 1911 In-Person Sales Event Online Order Form submission.)
Link for secure, digital payment submission for the event ticket. Note: Only confirmed ticket holders will be charged.
If you are selected, our 1911 staff will send you an email with the In-Store 1911 sales form.
Thanks,
Christine
Thank you Ma’am.
Entry is limited to 20 customers per 50 minute time slot, but the 3 ticket time slots are in 2 hour periods. How does this work? The first 20 customers in the first hour have an advantage over the second 20 customers in the last hour of the given time slot. Both groups paid the same ticket price. What am I missing?

Christine,
I signed up for a Tracker account and then tried the Camp Perry link. It took me to a page titled “CMP 1911 Pistol In-Person Sales Event – Camp Perry, Ohio.” Will there be a registration link or button there next Tuesday; I don’t see any way to register for the event on that page as it is now. Or am I missing something? Please let me know
thanks
Barry
Barry,
Yes, on Tuesday there will be a small line that says “Register yourself for the EVENT NAME” at the bottom of the page. I’ll add a graphic to the article above to help direct you to the correct spot.
Thanks,
Christine
thank you so much; I’m always afraid of going to the right place at the right time but not being able to find the right button or tab (and then “losing” the race). Looking forward to the graphic.
barry
Barry,
The graphic is posted at https://thecmp.org/cmp-announces-three-limited-entry-1911-pistol-sales-events-for-summer-2025/. Just follow the provided links for Anniston or Camp Perry once the ticket window opens.
Thanks,
Christine
Hi Christine, when I went to register, I selected the 10am and 1pm time slot, thinking was like a lottery of sort on which I could get picked for, but then it took me to the credit card page askfor payment of $250. I clicked back, and it said I am registered for both time slots but didn’t pull up the credit card page again. Is there something diffI should do? I thought it wouldn’t ask for payment until the secure link was sent.
It’s no different than when the program first started and the RNG was used.
Luck of the draw.
Tim — that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’ll get to choose/hand pick from a large variety of options.. Have a little trust here folks. I’m pretty sure no one will leave disappointed.
In regards to how the tickets are allotted. It’s a random pick, not first person gets first slot.
Michael — the first 20 may have a small, marginal advantage over the second 20 but I think it’ll all work out fine and fairly. There will be many hundreds of pistols to choose from and given varying personal preferences and budgets my guess is we’ll see a lot of smiles that day!
Our goal is to have very satisfied customers at these events and we have the capacity to achieve this result.
If you buy tickets to the in person sales day are you guaranteed guns will be available? As in, if I have a late timeslot is it possible you will be sold out?
Matt — yes — we guarantee guns will be available all day.
My RGN came up about 2 months ago and I purchased my second CMP 1911.
Am I eligible to call and purchase 2 more according to the new rules, or do I need to submit another package?
Yes, if your previous order packet has already been processed, you will have to resubmit a new order packet.
Thank you for your inquiry.
More information on pricing would be informative. I would be disappointed if I traveled across the country thinking I would purchase a consecutive numbered pair that being priced each at their respective grade (1250×2), only to discover they are thousands more due to the scarcity…or a matching manufacturer slide/frame combo that far exceeds the grade price, etc. I would expect to pay more for these (a premium, if you prefer) and be fully prepared before my journey, but I suspect there will be a decent amount of people that would not expect it, as they are going in blind. Maybe something easy, like grade +10% or whatever the premium is, just something to soften the surprise? Or even just a mention that prices will be higher for these items
Pricing for the graded pistols (many with matching frames & slides) will be the same as mail order with the advantage of getting to hand pick your pistol and immediate processing. Special guns will have adjusted pricing consistent with the value expected of these types of firearms. Rarity and quality will factor into the price, but I don’t believe they will be priced higher than what you would expect to pay for auction grade items.
So the onsite sale is just a luck-of-the-draw thing? All people with a competition # will be able to get a chance. Wouldn’t it be better to ask which # holders would like a chance at getting a #.
Edward — in our experience I think the answer to your last question is no.
If these events are well received we’ll certainly look to hold additional ones. Thank you.
is there a phone number that i can speak to someone with some questions??
thank you
bill
Hello
Since we can now up our lifetime number of 1911’s, will I have the opportunity to purchase consecutive numbered pistols or one with matching frame/slide pistols? I would possibly be willing to pay extra for this service.
Thank you
Hello have you received my online sales packet? Thanks
Christopher,
Your 1911 order was received on 3/3/2025.
Thanks,
Christine
I don’t care how the CMP sells these pistols!
I’m grateful that the deal got worked out, and that they did not go to the metal shredder. 🙂
Thanks Daniel — we are too!
Agreed!
I tried reaching out through the email provided above but never heard back. Not sure if my order was received? I sent the packet in January and it’s been radio silence since.
Tim,
Yes, your order was received on 2/10/2025.
Thanks,
Christine

Good afternoon I send in a request to purchase a 1911 about 2 months ago and have not heard anything since. I was just wondering if the sales already happened of if I was still waiting
Joe torres
Joe,
Yes your order was received on 3/14/2025.

I definitely understands CMPs’ need to expand sales, but this leaves members that aren’t in a location close to these events at a significant disadvantage to those that live closer and/or participate in these matches/events. I also realize that taking 400+ pistols from the inventory for each event probably isn’t putting too much of a dent in the overall inventory, but the optics of this is such that it seems unfair. Yes, present customers are going to have to spend an additional $100-$200 to attend, but to be able to get a pistol/pistols that one desires is worth the extra fee, especially since you get to handpick your gun/guns. If you are doing events like thi,s then you should maybe also offer a similar experience to those that go to other CMP “events”, some at significant expense I might add, like the Advance Maintenance Class for example. Yes, I know that they are different programs, but they all go towards supporting the mission of the CMP. Anyway, just venting because it’s impossible for me to attend one of these events and I feel like I’m missing out on a significant opportunity. Maybe open a couple of “Annexes” one in South Florida and another out west, so that those of us at the extremes of the country, geographically, can have similar opportunities!! Cheers!
An added benefit to attending the national matches and supporting the continued success of the CMP. A well deserved benefit to the attendees.
Thanks Matt — that was our thinking as well.
Great idea So Fl
JT — thank you for your response.
We acknowledge that with CMP physical stores in just AL and OH this creates a challenge for many of you. Over the past year or so we have reinstituted the program of bringing our rifles on the road to our travel games. The M1911s however are covered by different legislation making that difficult to impossible. And having store annexes really doesn’t work for us — just wouldn’t fit our business model and our responsibility to the Army in terms of the physical security and care of these firearms. The AMC class is an interesting option — those are already fully subscribed and this would increase demand further. But we’ll take a look at it.
Thank you to the CMP for offering Americans an opportunity to own US history. Thank you CMP for providing many years of enjoyment for watching the variety of hardware available to Americans. Thank you to the people that have served the country to protect freedom.
JT, you make some OK points but “Fair” is simply what one person thinks from their viewpoint.
CMP, like any other business has no requirement to cater to “Far”, but if you look you may find they put forth a lot of effort to be NOT UNFAIR, which is probably better for everyone.
Consider these points:
1. CMP will sell every 1911 they have, and will get through the current system under the current pricing.
2. CMP knows that customers want a “hand pick” option and finally (after decades of complaints) have come up with this event to give it a try.
3. Think of the associated cost in preparing and conducting this event.
4. If you read the posts here you will see they plan to evaluate how these go and consider additional events in the future.
I live east of the Mississippi and can’t get an In and Out Burger, and that’s unfair.
But it’s no fault of anyone.
Why not make this available for on line bidding/selling? Something that would help us handi-capped people get involved too. Some of us cant travel very well. Think about it. Thanks
Les — you’ll start to see more and more M1911s on our auction site in the coming weeks as well. And of course our regular mail order sales process will continue as well.
Can non-members of a pistol club ever buy one of these 1911’s !?
There are multiple ways to qualify without being a member of an affiliated club.
You should check the website to see what other organization memberships fulfill those requirements.
I got my affiliated program through being a DAV member.
So we have to have all the paperwork beforehand, rather than on-site like a Garand, and we don’t get it day of… after paying an extra $100-$200! I’m an Alabama resident and would be eligible otherwise to get a pistol within the state of Alabama. This event is pointless for me and not remotely worth it, unless you just want one from a specific manufacturer or to maybe have matching slide and frame. Is that worth the extra money to me? Not really… I was otherwise going to buy a 1911 if they did on-site transfers to Alabama residents.
Thank you to the CMP for offering Americans an opportunity to own US history.
Thank you CMP for providing many years of enjoyment for watching the variety of hardware available to Americans.
Thank you to the people that have served the country to protect freedom.
Thanks for opting out and providing opportunities for others.
Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining – it bores everybody else, does you no good, and doesn’t solve any problems. …
Cost of 1911?
Thomas,
See our website at https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/ for pricing information.
Thanks,
Christine
When you guys going to make a events in Florida???
The in-person 1911 event is only being held at our locations in Anniston, AL and Camp Perry, Port Clinton, OH. I don’t believe we will ever hold the event outside of our locations due to the FFL requirement.
Christine
Hi Ms Christine;
Where will the Anniston event be conducted? At the TMP with the match, at the South Store, somewhere else?
John,
The location will be in the email confirmation that will be sent out to those that have successfully purchased tickets for the event. It will be in Anniston and not Talladega.
Thanks,
Christine
Thank you 🙂
