I am registered for one of these events, and I’d like to see two things from the CMP
First, confirmation that you have received my completed online Order Form, which must be done prior to the event. I have completed it, but have no confirmation that you have it.
Second, I’d like to see a list of what I need to bring to the event. Nothing worse than showing up and something is missing.
I attended the event in Anniston AL on 6/6/25. It was a first class event all the way! Well organized, lots of support personnel available to greet the attendees and offer assistance as well as answer many questions. Hats off to the CMP for doing this and affording collector’s like myself with an opportunity to hand pick a piece of history. Many thanks CMP.
Mark — thank you. The CMP M1911 staff did a fantastic job!
Was in The 8 o’clock group this morning didn’t really know what to expect but left there very well pleased! Well worth my time, effort and ticket! Got my 4 limit and can’t wait to pick them up at my FFL. Thank you all for a great time and a big shout out to the young man John Wesley (I think that’s right) but his dad is the chief armorer on the rifle side. He was very knowledgeable and very helpful ! And also Mr. Dan I appreciate you answering my questions ! The process I thought was very well done Especially considering it was the first time ever. Oh! And thanks for the free box of Ammo and goodie bag !
Thank you — Dan and his team did a fantastic job. I’m glad you had a great experience.
Mr O’Keefe,
I understand that the sales for the June 6th event are almost complete, yet I have heard nothing back on the two (2) M1911’s I hand picked in the second group at 11:00.
This will complete my limit
I am scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 in Anniston for in person sales. I submitted my info last night online, but no confirmation by phone, email, or text that it went through. I am reluctant to drive 215 miles early tomorrow without confirmation that everything is in order (instructions were very rigorous that everything must be submitted 24 hours in advance)… I don’t want to drive there and then not be allowed in. How can I know?
I submitted an order for a 1911 a few months back and have heard nothing. Can you verify my order has been received?
William,
Your order was received on 3/11/2025 – see our order timeline at https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/1911-sales-information/1911-order-status/.
Thanks,
Christine
Your info states 400 guns per event. How man customers are in each time slot?
It also states “maximum of 20 customers per 50-minute time slot” yet there are three 2-hour shopping blocks. How does this work?
(Please answer here for all to see.)
thanks, barry
Barry
We just completed the first in-person event in AL and from my perspective it went extremely well.
There are six each 50 minute time slots. Each time slot is in fact limited to 20 individuals with 50 minutes to look at the available inventory and make a decision. The 50 minutes turned out to work well. Sufficient time for customers — most making their selection well in advance of the 50 minute limit. Our inventory (quantity, quality, variety) stayed strong all day as well.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Gerald; it helps immensely. Glad to hear things went well today. I am very much looking forward to the July event at Camp Perry (despite the five hour drive each way).
On reflection, I should have realized that each two-hour block was likely a 50 minute session with a ten minute break to ready things for the next 50 minute session.
By the way, is there any chance that the Camp Perry store (selling M1 Garands) will be open for the July 15th 1911 sales event?
thanks,
barry smith
Barry,
Yes the North Store will be open on July 15 – see our NM North Store schedule at https://thecmp.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/2025-NM-North-Store-Schedule.pdf.
Thanks,
Christine
I was in the 0900 group and would concur that it went very well. You and your Team are to be commended on the obvious effort that went into the logistics, planning and operation of the event. Well done!! I left very happy with my choices and ended up picking up a rifle at the South store afterward. My wife asked me how was it and I told her it would be like her going into a jewelry store and them having everything you want. Thanks for a great day!
Can you please clarify the following description that was in the recent email concerning types of items to be available? Is this a 1911 and an M1?
“1911(A1) – Rifle Matched SN Pairs”
Scott,
I’ll forward your question onto our 1911 Manager, Dan, and have him respond back to you.
Thanks,
Christine
I have the same question as Scott Vaaler:
“Can you please clarify the following description that was in the recent email concerning types of items to be available? Is this a 1911 and an M1?
“‘1911(A1) – Rifle Matched SN Pairs’”
Could you please post the answer here for all to read? Thank you.
Tony,
I’ll forward this to our 1911 Manager and ask him to reply here.
Thanks,
Christine
Yes, we have 1911A1s with serial numbers that match an assortment of rifles.
Yes, we have pistols paired with rifles that have matching serial numbers!
Scott,
We’ll have a number of M1911 or M1911A1 pistols paired with matching rifle serial numbers. The rifles included just depend on which ones have matching serial numbers. Could be a Garand, an M1917, a .22 . . . whatever matches the M1911 serial number in question. We just finished the AL in-person sales event today and these were very popular. Make sense?
Christine
I am in the same boat. I am in fear of losing my slot. Although I put card information in my registration, I don’t see any payment in my account. My Ticket Order #: 845640. (My registration confirmation number is R-506692) My original May 29 confirmation email did not have the “no payment on file” notation, so I assume my card information was accepted. But without the charge showing up in my account I am a bit anxious about losing my slot.
Barry,
I’ll forward your inquiry onto Traci Jones and have her reach out to you.
Thanks,
Christine
