Civilian Marksmanship Program▸The First Shot▸Register Today for CMP’s New England Games & Highpower MatchesJERICHO, Vt. – Registration is now available for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) annual New England Games and Highpower Rifle Matches! The outdoor event is set to be held Sept. 19-27, 2026, at the Camp Ethan Allen National Guard Training Site in Vermont.
Hosted jointly by the Vermont State Rifle and Pistol Association (VSRPA), the New England Games features a full lineup for guests to enjoy, including recreational-style rifle and pistol CMP Games events as well as Highpower Rifle opportunities.

Popular events like the Garand/Springfield/Vintage and Modern Military (GSMM), Rimfire Sporter, Carbine and Vintage Sniper matches combine classic and contemporary rifle competitions that are suitable for those just beginning as well as those seasoned in the sport.
NEW FOR 2026: We’ve added an extra Rimfire Sporter Match! Competitors may compete in both matches if registered for separate classes for each match.

Additionally, highpower rifle matches like the 80 Shot Aggregate series, a 2-Person Team event and a Service Rifle Excellence-In-Competition (EIC) match offer even more exciting challenges on the range – all held on CMP’s own line of outdoor electronic targets.
The 2026 New England Games will also include a 3×600 Mid-Range Match, fired completely from 600 yards in the slow-fire prone position. Rifles categories accepted for the Mid-Range event include Match, Service, Palma, F-Open, F-T/R, F-Practical and AR Tactical.

Pistol athletes may look forward to Service Pistol and .22 Rimfire Pistol EIC events, along with As-Issued 1911 Pistol and Military & Police Service Pistol matches. Pistol also includes 900 Aggregates for .22, Centerfire and .45 caliber firearms and a Service Revolver EIC Match.
For educational opportunities, the CMP will host Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship 101 courses, providing hands-on training on the firing line. Participants in the course review gun safety, target shooting skills, positioning, mechanics and more. All firearms and equipment will be provided.

Those participating in the Rimfire Sporter Match should also consider signing up for the accompanying clinic, held prior to the event to give an in-depth look into the fundamentals of the competition.
