Regarding purchasing a CMP 1911 in person in Anniston – when is says one of the requirements in order to purchase is “Membership in a CMP affiliated organization,” what does this mean? I’m not familiar with what those organizations are, and would like to know so I can determine if I would be able to purchase one or not. Thank you!
Mark,
You can view additional information at https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/eligibility-requirements/.
Thanks,
Christine
Will a person who lives in another state (other than Alabama) be able to purchase in person?
Hello Mr. Tuck,
Yes sir, everyone is welcome to visit the 1911 Store and select a pistol for purchase. Please note that all firearms purchased through the 1911 Store must be shipped to a Type 01, Type 02, or Type 07 FFL dealer for transfer.
No..you can pick out the specific one you want and handle but it will have to be shipped to a local FFL of yours
Thank you for your response. Is there an online inventory that is available to review before visiting the store? If so, where?
At any point will you start to accept specific request…???
I bought a Select Grade earlier and I received a 1911A1 with a contractor slide- UHG!!!
I don’t want to buy a pistol sight unseen and receive something like that again for $1300 or less.
I need a Remington 1911A1 slide- late model…
I also live in NJ – another UGH…!!! So, it is about a 2 day drive to Anniston.
Thanks!
/Pete
Hello Mr. Bluntschli,
With the new online order forms, there is a section where you can add special requests to your order.
Please note that requests cannot be guaranteed, as selection is based on available inventory at the time your pistol is ready to ship.
Big question 🤔
I know that online, we were allowed the ?4 pistols. If I drive down there to the 1911 Store from Colorado, can I buy another pistol ? Would sure be willing to make the drive for another and to see the store and also check out a Garand or 2
Eugene,
Our 1911 lifetime limit is four at this time. You are welcome to come to our stores to shop for a Garand – visit https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/cmp-stores/ for our store details.
Thanks,
Christine
You can buy a TOTALof 4 per lifetime TOTAL
Good morning!

We are driving 4 hours to get there and want to prepare as best as possible.

Has a 1911 (not the A1) made it to the store recently?
Hello Mr. Garmong,
Most of the 1911s that we have available are the A1.
Do you have any 1911s for sale in Camp Perry?
Norman,
The surplus 1911s are only available through online ordering – https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/ – or in our Anniston Store.
Thanks,
Christine
Good Morning – I look forward to an in-person visit to the Armory soon. Do you have any surplus 1911 .45 magazines also for sale, separate from the pistols offered?
Thank You,
Bob
Hello Mr. Burns,
Thank you for reaching out! We do not sell surplus 1911 magazines separately. Each pistol purchase will include the magazine that was used to test fire that specific pistol.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to seeing you during your visit to the 1911 store!
Will the in person sales be Remington Rand models only, or will there be any Colt and/or Ithaca? Thanks
Hello Mr. Dean,
We carry Colt, Ithaca, and Remington Rand. Availability can vary from day to day depending on what is completed and ready for online orders and in store purchases.
We hope to see you in the store!
AM I CORRECTLY ASSUMING THESE 1911 ARE 45 CALIER?
DO YOU SELL ANY 1911 9MM SEMI AUTO?
THANKS
CHET SADOWSKI
TOLEDO, OHIO
Chester, the CMP is proud to offer our battle tested 1911s in .45 acp only. 9mm never won a world war, 9mm was on the side that LOST the world war, and the day our red blooded .45 acp 1911s are no longer available, we at the CMP will gladly shut our doors before offering any other caliber, because in our opinion, there IS no other caliber…
I’ve got a John Inglis manufactured Browning high-power that would disagree with that.
