Welcome to the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center!

The facility is open to the public each week to all ages and experience levels. Stop in to browse building displays, try our Laser Shot simulators or use our state-of-the-art indoor electronic target air gun range.

Outside of weekly offerings, the GACCC hosts local, regional and national air gun competitions all year long. Such popular events include Monthly Air Gun Matches and supported Bench League Matches – email Catherine for additional information.

Each summer, the range hosts National Match Air Gun Events open to individuals of all backgrounds – even if you’ve never competed before!

The GACC has a little something for everyone!

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., and Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (EST)

We kindly ask large groups to call ahead to schedule range time at (419) 635-2141, ext 704.

Rentals

No equipment? No problem! The range offers rental items during Open Public Marksmanship.

Both air pistols and air rifles are quiet firearms with no kickback – propelled by air using lead pellets. Safe and fun for everyone!

The entire facility (common area, classroom, simulators, range) is available for rent for group meetings, team building, baby showers, birthday parties and more! Find more info: Rent our Range Flyer.

Marksmanship Simulator

Currently, the GACCC is home to two Laser Shot simulators, featuring hundreds of scenarios in an exciting and entertaining environment.

Using innovative video gaming technology and safe, modified firearms, choose from rifle, pistol or shotgun modes. Pay per play or rent by the hour! Available during open GACCC hours. Find more info: Marksmanship Simulator.

Memorabilia Store

The GACCC houses a retail store filled with shirts, cups, books and other collectable CMP items for guests to enjoy, accessible during facility open hours!

Junior Rifle Club

In October and January, CMP hosts a 10-week club for youth ages 10 and up that introduces firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, air rifle competition experience and life skills through fun instruction on the range!

No prior experience necessary and no initial cost. Rifles are available for loan at the range during club meetings.

The Junior Rifle Club is led by former NCAA Division I rifle athletes. Learn more: CMP Junior Rifle Club.

About Gary Anderson: 

Gary Anderson is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and Director of Civilian Marksmanship Emeritus. He retired as the full-time CMP Director at the end of 2009 but continues to work with the CMP as the senior marksmanship instructor to this day.

During his remarkable career, Anderson also earned seven World Championships and 16 National Championships. He served as a Vice President of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) from 1990 through 2018, is a former Nebraska State Senator and a past President of USA Shooting. He additionally served as a Technical Delegate for Shooting during the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games as well as for the 2014 and 2018 World Shooting Championships.

In 2012, the International Olympic Committee awarded Gary Anderson with the Olympic Order – its highest honor. The award is on display within the GACCC, along with several other items from Anderson’s career.

Gary Anderson lives locally to Camp Perry and can often be seen at the range during events.
