TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama is not only proud to be one of the most advanced outdoor facilities in the country but also a frequent host of organizations supporting meaningful causes.
In early 2024, the CMP facilitated several charity events that brought in over 330 people to CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park and raised thousands of dollars in total.
“The Civilian Marksmanship Program’s Talladega Marksmanship Park gives nothing less than a memorable experience,” said Antonio Davis, CMP’s marketing specialist who works closely with the charity event partners at Talladega. “With our attention to detail, exceptional amenities, and commitment to excellence, hosting your charity event at our place ensures a memorable experience for all involved, leaving a lasting impression and driving your charitable efforts forward.”
Charity events to date in 2024 include:
Garrison Steel & CraneWorks:
Garrison Steel (a premier structural steel fabricator and erector) partnered with CraneWorks (a national full-service crane equipment company) to make the 6th Annual Steel Dog Clay Shoot a success – helping support JDRF International, the leading global organization for funding Type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
The shotgun shoot saw over 160 participants and volunteers at the event, raising close to $40,000. Attendance has grown every year, with 2024 marking the biggest yet.
“It was a great event supporting a great cause, and CMP is always honored to help support other organizations and help anyway we can,” Davis said.
JDRF International is now known as Breakthrough T1D. Learn more about the organization at https://www.breakthrought1d.org/.

Shooters for Hooters had over 100 participants, including sponsors, and raised nearly $21,000.
The 2024 event was the largest in the event’s seven-year history. Also, for the first time, the CMP was a sponsor alongside being host of the shoot.
The event is held annually by Never Surrender – a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the education, prevention and support for breast cancer patients, family and community members. Learn more at https://tfulford1.wixsite.com/neversurrenderbftc.

“The group travels all over the country, and we are one of the locations they chose to come to,” Davis said. “We’re honored!”
