Civilian Marksmanship Program▸The First Shot▸CMP Triples Attendance at 2026 Talladega Premier Expo EventTALLADEGA, Ala. – On June 27, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) hosted its third Premier Expo, an outdoor tradeshow held across the 500 acres of Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama. The event featured over 30 leading industry vendors, doubling from previous Expo events, and tripled the attendance – reaching nearly 400 individuals from 12 different states.
Set across the 500 acres of CMP’s Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama, the Expo features exhibitors from trusted marksmanship companies like Faxon Firearms, Hornady, GLOCK and others, all showcasing a variety of products available on the market today.

Guests to the Expo were able to personally interact with vendors and to experience hands-on access to current product lines. Those in attendance were also able to take products from the display table to the range to test upon Talladega’s Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Action Bay and Unknown Distance areas.
“We’re not just putting on another trade show – we’re building an event that people look forward to every year,” said Jeremy Coppock, CMP Talladega Park Manager. “The CMP Premier Shooting Expo gives manufacturers, vendors and attendees the unique opportunity to experience products in a real-world environment while enjoying one of the premier shooting facilities in the country.”
“Our team is committed to making each year’s expo bigger, better and more valuable for everyone involved,” he added.

Outside of displays from industry vendors, visitors were given a first-hand look at CMP’s production M1 Garand and were even allowed to test fire on the range.
Built from surplus and new commercial components, the rifle is forged to exacting standards, marked with a contemporary CMP crest. Internally, the rifle retains the original gas-operated, rotating bolt action design combined with CMP’s modern machining to ensure tight tolerances and durability.
The CMP also held a Tisas 1911 giveaway, with Jason Greg of Montana taking home the prize.
Special thanks to the 2026 CMP Premier Expo Title Sponsor, New South Express!
