CAMP PERRY, Ohio – Rifle competitors looking for the chance to earn real competition practice before the annual National Matches this summer should sign up for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) series of Warm-Up Matches – held on the ranges of Camp Perry in Port Clinton, Ohio. The series offers a first-hand preview of CMP’s highpower (HP) events that will be presented on the National Matches schedule in July and August as well as Mid/Long Range rifle matches.

The Long Range events will fire at Camp Perry, May 31-June 1, while the Highpower Warm-Up Matches will fire June 27-29. Like the 2025 National Rifle Matches, all Warm-Up matches will be held on CMP’s outdoor line of electronic targets.
Long Range includes three matches each day, fired at 1,000 yards, for Match/Any Sights, Service, Palma, AR Tactical, F-Open and F-T/R rifles.

HP competitions:
- 30 Shot Rifle
- 80 Shot Rifle
- 3×600 Mid-Range
- EIC Service Rifle
The HP lineup will also include special Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association awards for the ORPA State Championship Match and the Ohio Governor’s Match (the EIC Service Rifle Match).

About the Camp Perry National Matches:
Held at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Facility in Ohio since 1907, the National Matches are comprised of celebrated traditional competitions along with modern day additions. The National Matches schedule includes CMP’s National Air Gun Matches, National Pistol Matches, National Rifle Matches, National Games Matches, National Smallbore Rifle Matches and the National Long Range Rifle Matches.
Outside of competition, educational courses like the Small Arms Firing Schools lead new and experienced individuals on safety and fundamentals within a variety of disciplines, while other beginner and advanced courses provide even more training on marksmanship essentials.
Additionally, the National Matches hosts Commercial Row, where industry vendors provide a variety of supplies and other necessities, available for purchase. Competitors and guests of all ages and experience levels are welcome to view all the festivities – free of charge!
