The in person 1911 sales was every Friday. What happened? I live in eastern NC and was planning a trip to Alabama on Sept 4th and take in a ball game on Sept 5th. Any chance you will change back to every Friday?
    Thanks

    1. RE: In-person sales at Anniston, would Alabama residents (with appropriate ID, etc.) be allowed to take the pistol with them, or do they still have to have them sent to another FFL for final delivery?
    2. For residents of states other than Alabama, I assume that a C&R FFL would not be allowed (in lieu of shipping the pistol to an FFL in their home state), correct?

      Hello Mr. Vieg,

We do not conduct any face-to-face transfers. All firearms purchased through the 1911 Store must be shipped to a Type 01, 02, or 07 FFL dealer.

What is the surplus stock of 1911’s setting in warehouses currently? Maybe a future opportunity to purchase a #5 for those who already have the #4 limit?

Will everyone who attends be afforded the ability to shop, or is there a cut off number of potential buyers? Does one need to arrive very early to be sure to get in, and are there always more buyers than time-slots (hence, people turned away?
Thanks for your time and help.

      Hello Mr. Finch,

At this time, we have not had to turn anyone away from the store, so you should not have any issues with access. You are also welcome to purchase your full lifetime limit in a single visit if you choose.

I am interested. I retired military, I live about 35 miles from Anniston. I have a Georgia driver license, a gun permit for Georgia, but not a CMP member. I can join. What’s the average price on the pistol. I had one in combat. So let know and I can show up to buy for one. Thanks.

      Michael,
      PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP

You must provide a copy of a U.S. birth certificate, passport, proof of naturalization, or any official government document (when using a military ID to prove citizenship, must be an E5 or above) that shows birth in the U.S. or states citizenship as U.S. Law enforcement status if you are a Federal officer.

      PROOF OF AGE

You must provide proof of age. Usually proof of citizenship also provides proof of age. In those cases where it may not, a driver’s license or state ID is sufficient.

      MEMBERSHIP IN CMP-AFFILIATED ORGANIZATION

You must provide a copy of your current membership card or other proof of membership. This requirement cannot be waived. The CMP currently has over 2,000 affiliated organizations located in many parts of the country.

If your CMP affiliated club does not issue individual membership cards, please have the club fill out the CMP Club Member Certification Form and return it with your order.

Membership in many of these organizations costs $25.00 or less and can be accomplished online. A listing of affiliated organizations can be found by clicking here.

In addition to shooting clubs, the CMP also has several special affiliates. Membership in these organizations satisfies our requirement for purchase. These special affiliates include:

Congressionally chartered veterans’ organizations such as the VFW, AL, DAV, MCL, etc.
U.S. Military services (active or reserves)
      National Guard, to include retirees
Professional 501(c)3 law enforcement organizations and associations such as the FOP, NAPO, NSA, etc.
The Garand Collector’s Association is a CMP Affiliated Club. You can join by visiting the GCA Membership website or download the GCA Membership Brochure.
Note: Club membership IS required for purchase of rifles, parts, and ammunition. Club membership is NOT required for instructional publications or videos or CMP memorabilia.

I hope this answers your question.

      Hello Mr. Fenske,

If your military ID shows that you were an E5 or above, it will cover all of the requirements needed to make a purchase.

The only additional items you will need are your driver’s license and the name and address of the FFL dealer where you would like your pistol shipped.

I’ve been blessed to attend the first in-person event and could not be more pleased. Unfortunately I’m at my lifetime limit already so PLEASE increase it (incrementally) so us true enthusiasts can get more without opening the flood gates to the flippers/dealers.
