CMP Announces Changes to 2026 National Matches Rifle Team Events

For those team match competitors looking to avoid early morning squadding and becoming a mosquito buffet on the range, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has announced the opportunity for advanced team registration for the 2026 National Matches season!
This year’s National Matches is set for July 12 to Aug. 9, at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Base in Port Clinton, Ohio – conducted through a partnership between the CMP and the Ohio National Guard. The series showcases a variety of indoor and outdoor rifle, pistol and air gun competitions and clinics for all experience levels.
Changes to match squadding will affect the Hearst Doubles and Vintage Sniper Team rifle events as well as team events during the Long Range rifle phase.
Unlike previous years, participants will now be able to register their teams online! Those who choose advanced registration will no longer need to arrive early to the range for squadding on the day of the event – easing the process for CMP staff members and competitors alike.
Simply fill out a form on with each team member’s competitor number. Forms will be available online until three days before the match begins. Once forms expire, teams will be able to register at the Welcome Center in Building 3 after the start of the National Matches.

Those who fill out Rifle Team Forms ahead of time will be able to pick up their target assignments and scorecard packets at the Welcome Center during allotted times, set and ready to go!
Likewise, those who decide to sign up for a team event after the start of the National Matches will still be accommodated, including those in need of a team or teammate the morning of competition.

All events of the 2026 National Matches are open to the public and free for spectators. Guests are welcome to observe firing on the Camp Perry ranges at any time, with ample parking on-site.
