Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Extremely FriendlyChristina,
Thank you, it was a pleasure meeting you and again I want to thank you and your staff for all that you do. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and always exhibited a positive attitude. You have a great bunch of co-workers and volunteers.
Can’t wait for the CMP to come back to OK and do it all over again. Now that I have a nice Garand I plan on shooting the rifle matches at the next event and also next time I will bring my better 1911 with adjustable sights, that can be used at 50 yds. I only brought my old 1911-A1 and my Beretta 92 FS both were configured as a rack grade “as-issued” pistols with the original small fixed sights and never really competed with them out past 15 to 25 yds in the National Guard State level combat matches. Now that I have participated (somewhat poorly but I had fun and met some good people) I learned a lot about the pistol matches and will be better prepared for the next event. I shot on the OK Army National Guard Team for over 18 yrs, mostly rifle, making the Governor’s 20 in Combat Rifle, won first place individual & 3rd place sniper team in the 1997 OK State Military & Police Sniper Championships and traveled to North Little Rock at Camp Robinson to compete in the National Guard Bureau’s Winston P Wilson National Championships to represent OK in the Combat Rifle Matches and have always concentrated on my rifle skills and won a few team matches in lower level Military combat pistol matches with as issued pistols only. The CMP Games-OK let me see and experience matches that I had not really tried before with the pistol and I learned way more than I thought I would.
It is always a good thing to come away from an event with more knowledge than you had going into to it.
Again thank you and your team for a great experience.
