Each One is a Tiny Time Capsule

Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Each One is a Tiny Time CapsuleThank you very much. No worries on the timeline, I can be patient; everyone at the CMP must be overwhelmed with work due to the buying frenzy. I’d been planning on buying my limit of ammo (had there been one before this) as well as limit of rifles this year anyway…..I have not sold any of my Garand rifles or a single round of ammo and don’t plan to. I’ve simply caught the ‘Garand’ collecting bug. Each one is a tiny time capsule, even found a small folded piece of yellowed paper with sighting click notes in one butt stock obscured by a glob of grease, no name on it but it matches the type of paper used by relatives to write home from Korea during the conflict. My first SA service grade ordered this year took 3 month but is the best to date! All but the gas cylinder poppet valve was original to the June 1945. Delivery date based on the S/N and revision parts. Must have slipped through the screening process for auction candidates. Out of the box is literally as issued as it is at worst a “correct grade” bordering on collector quality. Point of my short story is it will take as long as it takes and that’s OK with me 🙂 Just knowing that it was received is enough so I can make sure to note there will be a ~$1k charge made at some point in the next 3-6 months 🙂 Hope you guys get a break soon :). Sincerely,
