To everyone at the CMP, my sincerest thanks and gratitude. My Garand came and I went to the gun store to sign papers and have a look. That is the most beautiful rifle I have ever seen. You gave me more than a great rifle. You gave me a piece of history, and as I held it I started to cry. I remembered all the stories my father told me about the war, they were tears of joy. I miss my father and my uncles but this rifle brings me a little closer to them. I will cherish this rifle for the rest of my life and I will always think of your kindness at the CMP for making a dream come true. You gave me exactly what I asked for. I owe you all a great debt of gratitude. I wish all of you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving and an even better Xmas. For you have made this Xmas the best I’ve ever had in my life.
