CMP South Store Set to Host Outdoor Tent Sale in November

ANNISTON, Ala. – If you’re a marksmanship collector or enthusiast, mark your calendar! The Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) south location in Anniston, Ala., will be hosting a Tent Sale, Nov. 7-9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring many items not sold within stores or online! CMP will have Food Truck on site for the customers to purchase food and drinks.
The CMP hasn’t hosted a tent sale in over eight years, resulting in a warehouse full of unique treasures. The sale will take place at the side gate of the CMP South office, located at 1470 Sentinel Dr., Anniston.
Items to be sold include:
- Various ammo types
- Surplus: .45 and .22 cal ammo (subject to a 2,000 round annual limit per customer), used stocks (and cracked for a deeper discount), ammo cans, wooden crates, turkish wooden rifle boxes, assorted web slings, leather slings.
- Other Ammo: .223, .22, .30-06, 300 black out, 30-30, .357, .380, .38, 9mm, Shotgun (10, 12, 20 ga), .270, .45, 6.5
- Clothing
- CMP Sweatshirts, tshirts (to include UnderArmour), hats, camo sports shirts, raincoat, backpacks.

- Marksmanship accessories
- Target frames, hard rifle/pistol cases, 9mm brass (new), 308 & 30-06 once fired (to include Lapua) brass, ear muffs, shooting glasses/gloves/coats, air rifles, nightforce scopes/accessories, Kowa spotting scopes.

There will also be rifles available for purchase at the CMP South Store (located in the same building as the Tent Sale) and we will not be discounting rifles beyond the current prices that we offer. Credit card and cash payments will be accepted (checks will not be accepted).

At this time, CMP does not have a membership. You can join the Garand Collector’s Association (you can apply for membership at the event) or any CMP Affiliated Club (visit https://thecmp.org/clubs/search-clubs-2/).

If it rains is the event still on? Moved inside?
We have rented a 30×60 tent for our event, Which if we need to put items inside the building due to heavy rain we will do that.

Will there be phased releases per day? I want to make sure if I travel several hours that everything doesn’t sell out Thursday and the trip isn’t wasted as I can only make it Saturday.
I would also like to know this.
We will restock items on each day of the event. So items are small quantities to start with, once they are gone there is no more to replenish the small quantities items.
Zach, we will restock each morning with what items we have available. Keep in mind that some items are in small quantities; once those are gone, that is it.

Hello,
Planning a trip from 12 hours away. Will there be Garand rifle sales at the Talladega 600 which is occurring at the same time, as well as the Anniston tent sale? Are there any daily limits on the number of rifles one can purchase in a day at either location? I know the yearly limit is 6 per member. Thankyou in advance.

The TMP Retail Store will also have rifles for sale during the Talladega 600. At this time, I cannot tell you which type of M1’s will be in either store. Each week inventory is pulled to stock the stores with what is available at that time.
to buy at the tent event do you have to be a member or whatever you requirements are for buying from you normally ??

We will have assorted bulk amounts of leather slings in the tent sale. The retail store may have a handful of the dated 1907 slings but those would not be discounted.

Hi Melody, Will there be any M1 Garand Receivers or Barreled Receivers for sale of any kind? Also How about Bayonets will you have any there for sale?
There will not be any receivers or barrel receivers. We will have full functioning M1 Garands. We only have a few Turkish bayonets available.

I live in WA state , and wondering if there is any way I can take advantabe of the Tent Sale? I have a buddy (both of us are ret Army) who lives in Tallegada. He’s going to join CMP and attend the sale.

Unfortunately, this is an in person sale. However, if your buddy would want to FaceTime you while he shops, you can shop with him. He would need to fill out the paperwork for the items to complete the sale.
