Civilian Marksmanship Program▸The First Shot▸CMP Announces Schedule for 2026 Monthly Air Gun Matches, Plus Smallbore!CAMP PERRY, Ohio; ANNISTON, Ala. – The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has released its lineup of 2026 Monthly Matches, featuring air rifle and air pistol events for a variety of ages and experience levels.
Each match is held at the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center in Anniston, Ala., and the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at the Camp Perry National Guard Training Facility in Port Clinton, Ohio. Both facilities are equipped with 80-point indoor air gun ranges filled with CMP’s own electronic target line.

Staple events offered at the Monthly Matches include 60 Shot Air Rifle and 60 Shot Air Pistol competitions as well as 3×20 Three-Position (3P) events for Adult and Junior athletes.
Top scorers at each range are recognized with special Monthly Match medals. Competitors may also earn EIC points toward a Distinguished Air Rifle, Air Pistol or Junior Distinguished Badge.
Monthly Matches currently scheduled for the 2026 season:
- Feb. 28
- March 21
- May 9
- Sept. 19
- Oct. 17
- Nov. 21
NEW for Alabama Only: Smallbore 3×20! During select months, a 3×20 Smallbore match will be open to all ages, hosted at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park in nearby Talladega, Ala. Dates include March 1 and May 10.

Monthly Match League: For extra fun, a Monthly Match League is available for those athletes who fire in four or more Monthly Matches throughout the year. The top five individuals in Junior 3×20 Precision/Sporter and Open 60 Shot Air Rifle/Air Pistol events earn prize money based on the number of participants. Places first through third also earn plaques for their performances.
