Chief Product Officer

Chris Hord, Chief Product Officer, began with the CMP in September 2009 as an armorer after spending two years as a gunsmith for national firearms retailer, Gander Mountain. He obtained an associate’s degree in Gunsmithing from the Colorado School of Trades and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of West Georgia. 

Outside of his longtime role as CMP Custom Shop supervisor and additional titles, Hord has career experience in sales and competition, often attending Travel Games events and the annual Camp Perry National Matches, and has served as an advisor to the CMP Rules Committee.

Assuming the title of Chief Product Officer in June 2024, Hord currently oversees several CMP divisions, including the Armory, Parts/Logistics, Auction, Custom Shop, CMP1911, Production Contracts and South Warehouse Operations.

Hord was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., and resides in nearby Buchanan with his wife, Sharon, and their three children. In his free time, he coaches youth soccer and loves spending weekends attending Atlanta United FC games with his family. They also enjoy fly fishing, backpacking and camping as often as possible.
