Civilian Marksmanship Program▸Hello Lue, thank you for the opportunity to share the excitement of Alaska 4-H shooting sports members and volunteer leaders. The 2012 donation was used to support the Borealis Bullseyes 4-H club. In the words of Marshel Reed, club leader, the CMP funds are being used to pay for SCUBA tank refills and inspections. The Borealis Bullseyes use the compressed air to fill the cylinders of their precision air rifles. Each shooter will fill their cylinder before practice or a match and a full charge will last for 100 or so reliable shots.
The end result of all this use of compressed air is a second place team and second place individual win at the CMP Regional Championship in Albuquerque, NM just a few weeks ago and qualification for the team to attend the Three-Position Air Rifle Junior Olympic Championship in Anniston, AL July 11-14, 2013.
Attached are photos of the group of 12 shooters, two coaches and several chaperones who made the trip to Albuquerque.
