Civilian Marksmanship Program▸The First Shot▸CMP’s Monthly Matches Return for Fall SeasonThe Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is excited to announce the return of its Monthly Matches lineup to close out the 2026 air gun and smallbore season!

Monthly Matches are open to adult and junior competitors of all skill levels and offer a variety of events, including 3×20 precision and sporter air rifle competitions and 60-shot standing air rifle and air pistol competitions. Monthly Matches are held at CMP’s Competition Centers in Ohio and Alabama, each equipped with 80 indoor electronic targets.
Monthly Matches remaining for 2026 include:
- Sept. 19
- Oct. 17
- Nov. 21
As in previous Monthly Matches, a 3×20 smallbore event will be held at the Alabama location the day following the air gun competitions – conducted at CMP’s Talladega Marksmanship Park, just a short drive from the Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center. Those dates include Sept. 20, Oct. 18 and Nov. 22.
Additionally, the Ohio location will be hosting a special Sport Shooting Depot consignment store during the fall months, beginning Sept. 19! Products on display and available for purchase will include International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) approved equipment like jackets, pants and more.

The Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center in Alabama and the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center in Ohio regularly host local, state and national competitions as well as weekly Open Marksmanship, which allows visitors ages 8 and up of any experience level to test out air rifles or air pistols with the guidance of qualified CMP staff members.
