CMP’s Gary Anderson Invitational Returns, Featuring New Match Locations

Registration is now open for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) annual Gary Anderson Invitational, featuring an expanded list of match dates and locations around the country!
The Gary Anderson Invitational is a junior sporter and precision air rifle competition, designed for schools, clubs and individuals of all experience levels in a 3×20 course of fire – 20 shots at kneeling, prone and standing positions. Along with sporter and precision athletes, adaptive junior competitors are welcome to participate in this event.
Though the annual match is traditionally hosted at CMP’s static air ranges in Ohio and Alabama, the 2025 event will also be held at several additional locations to provide even more opportunities for juniors interested in marksmanship competition!
Updated dates and locations include:
- Nov. 22-23 – Ware County Jr. Rifle Team, Waycross, Ga.
- Nov. 22, 28-30 – Georgia Military College, Milledgeville, Ga.
- Dec. 4-5 – Granbury Marine Corps JROTC Range, Granbury, Texas
- Dec. 5-6 – Judith Legerski CMP Competition Center, Anniston, Ala.
- Dec. 6 – Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center, Camp Perry, Ohio
- Dec. 6 – Reading Rifle and Revolver Club, Reading, Mass.
- Dec. 6 – Sapulpa High School Marine Corps JROTC, Sapulpa, Okla.
- Dec. 7 – West Virginia University Range, Morgantown, W.Va.
- Dec. 11-13 – Utah Military Academy Hill Field, Riverdale, Utah
All competitors will compete in the same course of fire, which features a qualification round and a 10-shot final – making it a great opportunity to earn a full competition experience, regardless of experience level!

About Gary Anderson:
Gary Anderson is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and holds seven world championships, six world records and 16 national championships. He has won more Olympic and world championship three-position titles than any other American in history. In 1999, Anderson began a 10-year reign as Director of Civilian Marksmanship and retired in December 2009. Today, he serves as DCM Emeritus and remains a mentor for the coming generations around the country.
