Surplus Rifles Limited Lifetime Warranty 

This limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of Surplus Rifles. It covers defects in materials and workmanship resulting directly from the manufacturing process performed by the CMP. This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the original purchaser and is not transferable.

What is Covered:

Surplus rifles are decades-old historic and reworked firearms that were used by our US armed forces and allies. They have blemishes and exhibit considerable wear. This warranty specifically covers the following aspects of the rifle resulting from the rework:

  • Integrity of the refinished metal surfaces against defects.
  • Proper assembly and function of any replacement parts.

What is Not Covered:

This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage resulting from unauthorized modifications, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than the CMP.
  • Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the rifle’s function and were not a direct result of the manufacturing process.
  • Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, dings, and fading of finish that occur through regular use.
  • Damage or malfunction resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, improper storage, or failure to follow the rifle’s operating instructions.
  • Damage caused by using improper non-standard ammunition, improper reloading practices, or the use of modern ammunition that is not suitable for a surplus rifle.
  • Corrosion or damage due to inadequate or improper maintenance.

Remedy:

In the event of a defect covered by this limited lifetime warranty, CMP’s sole obligation will be, at its discretion, to:

  • Repair the defective part or rifle.
  • Replace the defective rifle with a comparable rifle (subject to availability).
  • Perform other action as needed and/ or deemed necessary by CMP Warranty Department staff.

Warranty Claim Procedure:

Damage incurred during the shipping process, after the rifle leaves the CMP facility, should first be addressed to the delivery company, i.e. UPS, FedEx, or USPS.

To make a warranty claim, the original purchaser must contact the CMP immediately at [email protected] to describe the issue.

If the Warranty Department determines the rifle is to be returned, the following steps are required.

  • Securely pack the rifle in the original container.
  • Include a letter explaining the details of the defect.
  • A copy of the original proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
  • Attach the return label provided by the CMP.

This limited lifetime warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by CMP for its surplus rifle and is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. CMP shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damage arising from the use of this rifle. 

By purchasing a surplus rifle from the CMP, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this limited lifetime warranty.
