M1 Surplus Rifles Limited Lifetime Warranty 

This limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the M1 Surplus Rifles and covers defects in materials and workmanship resulting directly from the manufacturing process performed by CMP. This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

What is Covered:

Surplus rifles are decades-old historic and reworked firearms. By their very nature, they were used by our US armed forces and allies. They have blemishes and exhibit considerable wear. This warranty specifically covers the following aspects of the rifle resulting from the rework:

  • Integrity of the refinished metal surfaces against defects in the finishing process.
  • Proper assembly and function of any replaced parts.

What is Not Covered:

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to scratches, dings, and fading of finish that occur through regular use.
  • Usage of modern ammunition not suitable for the M1.
  • Damage or malfunction resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, accidents, improper storage, or failure to follow the rifle’s operating instructions.
  • Damage resulting from unauthorized modifications, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than the CMP.
  • Damage caused by using improper or non-standard ammunition, or improper reloading practices.
  • Corrosion or damage due to inadequate maintenance.
  • Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the rifle’s function and were not a direct result of the manufacturing process.
  • Damage incurred during shipping after the rifle leaves our facility.

Remedy:

In the event of a defect covered by this limited lifetime warranty, CMP’s sole obligation will be, at its discretion, to either:

  • Repair the defective part or rifle.
  • Replace the defective rifle with a comparable rifle (subject to availability).
  • Other action as needed and deemed by CMP Warranty Department staff, as suitable to compensate for any covered items listed above.

Warranty Claim Procedure:

To make a warranty claim, the original purchaser must:

  1. Contact CMP immediately at [email protected] to describe the issue and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
  2. Securely package the rifle, if requested by CMP’s Warranty Department and include:
    • A letter of explanation detailing the defect.
    • A copy of the original proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
    • The assigned RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the package.
  3. Ship the rifle, insured and postage prepaid, to the CMP FFL: 4387 Turner Mill Road
    Talladega, AL 35160.

The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the rifle to CMP for warranty service. If the defect is determined to be covered under this warranty, CMP will pay for the return shipping to the customer.

This limited lifetime warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by CMP for its M1 Surplus rifle and is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. CMP shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damage arising from the use of this rifle. 

By purchasing an M1 Surplus rifle from CMP, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this limited lifetime warranty.
