The schedule for the Western Games needed to be modified slightly due to availability of the ranges at Ben Avery. When we make the schedule, we try to accommodate everyone, but that can be easier said than done sometimes. Running an extra relay of the pistol EIC’s can be accomplished rather easily, we have done this at other events in the past. Next year we will return to a more “normal” schedule at the Western games, thank you for your understanding.
The scheduling of the Rifle EIC match is truly bizarre. It’s before the 80 shot matches, so shooters from out of State will have no chance to get a good zero. It also conflicts with the EIC Service Revolver Match and the .45 Pistol match.
The Pistol EIC matches are also confusing. Typically, the .22 EIC is on .22 day (which this is), the Revolver EIC is on Centerfire day and the Service Pistol EIC is on .45 day. That makes the most sense as the .45 is the most common service pistol.
Here is a suggestion for the pistol EIC matches. Keep the .22 match separate as is. For the Service Revolver and Service Pistol matches – combine them. Allow people to shoot either gun during each match. Run two slow fire strings for the revolver shooters. The service pistol shooters join in for the second slow fire string. That would allow people to shoot one or the other at 11AM Saturday and the other one at 1PM Saturday. They could still make the rifle EIC if desired.
Or, a more simple solution – move the rifle EIC match to after the 80 shot matches.
There are many of us who shoot both and now we must choose one or the other.
