M1 Garand by CMP – Order Update

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has a long tradition of preserving and sharing America’s historic service rifles—most notably the iconic M1 Garand, which armed a generation of Americans during World War II and beyond. For decades, CMP has inspected, rebuilt, and shipped thousands of M1s into the hands of collectors and marksmen, keeping this history alive on the firing line.
Building on that same legacy, we’re proud to report we have received over 500 pre-orders for the new CMP M1. All of these orders will be fulfilled as part of the limited Founder Series, carrying the special FNDR-### serial number range. The pre-order time window ended on Oct 1, 2025.
Online orders are being accepted for the CMP M1 on our website at https://thecmp.org/m1-garand-by-cmp/.
Our partner, Heritage Arms, expects to begin delivery of production receivers in mid December 2025. Fulfillment of regular production orders is projected to begin in January 2026, starting with serial number 1001.
If you would like a low four-digit serial number in the first full production run, we encourage you to order early.

Ordered my M1 Garand in late Sept 2025. Eight weeks went by so contacted CMP and was told working on August 2025 orders. Fourteen weeks has passed, now 2026. I contacted CMP and was told again working on August 2025 orders. When ordering it showed the M1 I wanted was in stock so I’m a bit confused. Everything I’ve learned about CMP, you just need to be patient with them. Ok, I’m working on that.

I paid for my heritage m1 the moment I received the email. I was told shipping would resume the first week of January . I have received no further correspondence.

Last week I received my new CMP founder M1 rifle. FNDR184. It’s a fine rifle. I recommend these new M1s fully. Very well crafted and I looked very close at the receiver. Very nice.

I picked up my CMP M1 a couple of days ago. This is a beautiful rifle! I cannot wait to shoot this rifle! It surpassed my expectations so far!
I have just received both of my Founder CMP M1s and The CMP have completely outdone themselves. What stunningly beautiful rifles they have produced. I was blown away…WOWed actually.
