CMP Camps and Clinics
Information
Each summer, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) sponsors a popular series of Camps and Clinics providing skill development to junior shooters and their adult leaders. Camps are open to any and all entrants. All camps are one week long, with the exception of the Outreach Clinics. If you and your athletes are unable to attend a CMP Camp, contact Lucas Kozeniesky to see about hosting a CMP Clinic at your location.
For questions, please contact Alana Kelly, CMP Camps and Clinics Coordinator, at 419-635-2141 ext. 620, or [email protected].
About the Curriculum
The structure of the CMP Camps reflects the complexity level of the material presented, providing three different options to best meet the needs and goals of the individual athlete.
Fundamental 3PAR Camps are designed for beginner athletes who are looking to strengthen their knowledge on shooting fundamentals. This curriculum emphasizes building a strong technical foundation through proper shooting positions and core shot process components. The goal for athletes attending the Fundamental 3PAR Camp is to establish repeatable shot processes, create consistent habits, and develop confidence in their skills before returning to regular season practices and matches.
Intermediate 3PAR Camps are designed for intermediate athletes who are looking to further develop their existing technical skills. This curriculum builds upon an established basis of knowledge concerning the fundamentals of shooting and aims to refine athletes’ mechanics through developing greater consistency and introducing self-evaluation techniques. The goal for the Intermediate 3PAR Camp is to equip athletes with effective training habits and shot execution skills necessary for continued progression.
Advanced Standing Camps are designed for experienced shooters looking to advance their technical understanding and execution of the standing position at higher levels of competition, with more focus on the NCAA and ISSF opportunities. This curriculum moves beyond the basic shooting fundamentals, exploring more advanced concepts such as hold pattern analysis and shot timing, and emphasizes efficiency within the shot process. The goal for athletes attending the Advanced Standing Camp is to develop greater awareness of their individual shooting patterns and improve shot execution through advanced technical refinement.

Camp Counselors
This premier program has a long established history of providing the highest quality three-position camps for air rifle and smallbore, and international air rifle instruction in the country for high school athletes. With the help of camp counselors, the CMP is able to reach hundreds of juniors every year, all while providing staff a truly one-of-a-kind summer experience. Camp Counselor positions are open to college students who have completed at least one year of school, and are members of an NCAA or college club rifle team.
