2026 CMP Action Pistol World Championships Announced for Toowoomba, Australia

Toowoomba, Queensland – Target Pistol Australia in conjunction with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), Pistol Shooting Queensland (PSQ) and Toowoomba Pistol Club is proud to announce the first CMP Action Pistol World Championships will be held in 2026!
The event will be hosted at the Toowoomba Pistol Club, Oct. 26 through Oct. 31, 2026.
The CMP Action Pistol World Championships will welcome the world’s best action pistol competitors to the Darling Downs region. Athletes from across the globe will compete in a test of precision, speed and accuracy across the sport’s most demanding courses of fire.
Target Pistol Australia President, Ray Andrews, said, “The announcement highlights both the strength of Australian pistol shooting and Toowoomba’s reputation as a first-class sporting destination.”
Jim Henderson, CMP Pistol Manager, echoed the excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to bring the CMP Action Pistol World Championships to Australia. The Toowoomba Pistol Club offers world-class facilities, and this event will showcase not only the highest level of competition shooting but also the warm hospitality of the Toowoomba community.”
The Championships are expected to attract hundreds of competitors, coaches, officials and supporters from around the world – providing a major boost to the local economy through tourism, accommodation and hospitality.

Toowoomba Pistol Club President John Beck said preparations are already underway.
“Our club members and volunteers are committed to ensuring competitors and visitors experience an unforgettable championship,” he said.
The 2026 CMP Action Pistol World Championships will mark a milestone for competitive pistol shooting in Australia and reinforce the nation’s place on the global shooting sports calendar.
