State Director Info

Background

When I was in high school, I started competitive shooting with the Army JROTC program. I joined the U.S. Navy after high school, and after a 22-year career, I was able to become a U.S. Navy JROTC Instructor and Rifle Coach. As a coach, my teams have had many successes at the local, state, and national levels of competitive air rifle.

Awards

I have coached the following teams and accomplished: three Navy JROTC Nationals, two JROTC Nationals, three CMP Western Regionals, and one CMP National match.

Personal Info

Married and have one son. After completing my military service, I returned to school and earned a master’s degree in business administration. I also teach management classes at the local Community College.

Reasons

I wanted to teach and pass on the knowledge and lessons learned from my life experiences, one of the reasons I became a high school teacher. Competitive shooting is a notable method to build youth’s self-esteem and confidence. I have seen youth develop positive changes and become more confident due to youth marksmanship programs. I want to help facilitate my positive experiences with shooting programs across the State of Nevada.

Goals/Hopes

Support local, CMP Cup matches, CMP State, and Nevada school districts\' air rifle teams with support as needed. Build a junior shooting program that brings air rifle shooters from both northern and southern Nevada and expose age-appropriate youth to competitive shooting programs such as air rifle. I look forward to working with the entire shooting community.
