CMP Smallbore Postal Program
January 2021 – April 2021
Beginning in January 2021, the CMP is excited to launch a new Postal Competition for Smallbore Shooters. While the world continues to battle the COVID-19 virus, the CMP will continue to conduct competitions for its athletes however it can. This Postal Competition will feature both 3-Position and Prone events fired at a distance of 50ft. Individuals and clubs can register and fire in both events. This competition will be scored using the Orion Scoring System.
After registration is complete, the CMP will print customized targets for each competitor and mail them to the club or individual. After firing, targets will be returned to the CMP or you may opt to score your own targets using the Orion Scoring System and send them to the CMP electronically.

The CMP would like to remind clubs to follow all state and local health guidelines and safe range practices. We also recommend each club follow guidelines to keep their facilities safe, such as: following state and local laws and adherence to health advisories, limiting/spacing the number of participants who congregate for safety briefings, spacing out firing points, leaving empty firing points between shooters, ensuring participants wear masks, covering their nose and mouth, washing hands frequently and/or providing disinfectant wipes and continuously cleaning common surfaces such as shooting benches & equipment.

Individuals and clubs with Orion may scan and score their own targets, but must submit their targets electronically to the Civilian Marksmanship Program. You can find the instructions for submitting targets electronically by going to the Firing Instructions, found on the CMP Smallbore Page.
Targets for the Prone competition will be scored and ranked in decimal sum.
Results for the competition will be posted as CMP receives targets. Preliminary results will be posted on 19 April and Final results will be posted on 23 April.
