CMP to Host October Marksmanship Events in Phoenix

Did you feel like you missed out on the fun at the CMP Eastern Games or the National Matches because it was just too far away to travel? Well never fear, the CMP Western Games is fast approaching and coming to a region near you! Yes, that’s right, the 20th anniversary of the CMP Western games will take place in Phoenix, Ariz., from October 7- 13, 2024.
The Ben Avery Shooting Facility will serve as the backdrop for a week filled with competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
This year, the rifle events include four days of GSMM Matches, a Carbine Match, a Vintage Sniper Match and a Rifle Marksmanship 101/M16 Match. The CMP Cup Matches include a CMP Mid-Range 3X600, a 2-Man Team Match, three days of CMP 800 Aggregate Matches and a CMP Service Rifle EIC Match.
The Highpower range will exclusively feature Kongsberg Electronic Targets (KTS). Live target views will be available during the match for spectators to view, so you can cheer your favorite athlete on from the range or from across the country.
The Games will also include three days of Pistol Matches including a Pistol Marksmanship 101/M9 Match, CMP Match Pistol 2700, CMP .22 Rimfire Pistol EIC Match, CMP EIC Service Pistol Match, CMP Service Revolver EIC Match, CMP 1911 As-Issued Pistol Match and Military & Police Service Pistol Match.
If you are completely new to the sport of marksmanship but still want to participate, sign up for the Rifle or Pistol Marksmanship 101 class. Participants will get the chance to shoot in an actual match with all the equipment and instruction provided to you by the CMP.

About the Western CMP Games, CMP Pistol and CMP HP Rifle Matches:
The annual Western CMP Games, CMP Pistol and Highpower Matches includes popular CMP events like the Garand, Springfield, Vintage Military, Modern Military and Carbine rifle competitions as well as pistol opportunities like the Match Pistol 2700, .22 Rimfire Pistol, EIC Pistol, 1911, Military & Police Service Pistol, 900 and a Service Revolver EIC Match. Educational experiences are also held by trained instructors in the classroom and on the range.
Outside of the Games schedule, the CMP Highpower Matches include 80 Shot competitions, a team match, Service Rifle EIC matches and a Mid-Range 3×600 Rifle event for Match Rifle, Service, F-Open, F T/R or AR Tactical rifles.
